A unified, business-centric approach to organizing cloud cost data across every cloud provider.
Managing cloud costs across multiple providers is hard when each cloud has its own tagging system and teams follow inconsistent naming conventions.
With the introduction of Virtual Tags in Amnic, you can define rules once and instantly bring order to the chaos. They sit right on top of your existing cost data, automatically standardizing reporting across AWS, Azure, GCP, and SaaS providers, with no changes in infrastructure.
What’s New
Unify tags across every cloud provider

Normalize differences between AWS tags, GCP labels, and Azure resource groups into one consistent taxonomy for accurate, cross-cloud reporting.
Capture every cost, tagged or not

Apply fallback values like Unallocated or Unknown or anything of your choice so that no cost slips through.
Make consistency automatic with rule-based governance

Define custom rules to group costs by teams, projects, or environments. Virtual Tags also fix naming variations automatically (like “dev,” “development,” and “DEV”) to ensure clarity.
Align cloud costs with your business reality

Different column names across providers refer to the same business concept and cross-cloud unification is needed without modifying resources at the provider level.
Virtual tags make financial reporting meaningful to leadership and finance teams, while reducing reliance on engineers.
Here’s how it works:
To create Virtual Tags:
Go to Settings → Tag Management
Click Create Virtual Tag
Define rules or map existing fields
Set fallback values for untagged costs
Save and apply to instantly categorize your data
Note: Only Owners and Admins can create or edit Virtual Tags. Collaborators and Observers can use them in analysis, but cannot configure them.
