Understanding Amnic’s Latest Feature: RBAC for Custom Views
2 min read
Securing and managing access to sensitive information is the need of the hour. At Amnic, we understand the importance of safeguarding your cloud cost data while ensuring that the right people have the right access. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our latest feature: Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for Custom Views.
This powerful enhancement gives you unparalleled control over how you share and manage your cloud cost data within your organization. Let’s quickly look into how this new feature can help you manage your operations better and enhance data security.
Granular Permissions for Custom Views
With RBAC, you can now fine-tune who can see what. Our new system allows you to create and share custom views with specific team members, while precisely controlling their level of access. Whether you need to share detailed reports or high-level summaries, you can now customize views to suit your business needs.
Roles such as Editor and Viewer are now available for custom views:
Editor: Users with this role can create, update, and schedule reports. They have full control over the data presented in the custom view, ensuring that only those with appropriate access levels receive the information they need.
Viewer: Viewers can see the custom views shared with them but cannot make changes. This role is perfect for team members who need to review cost data without the ability to modify it.
Observer Role
We’re also excited to introduce the new Observer role at the organizational level. Observers can access custom views shared with them but have limited interaction with other features. This role is designed for individuals who need to monitor cost data without the ability to alter settings or data. It’s an ideal solution for providing access to those who need insight but don’t require full control.
Refined Role Management
Alongside RBAC for Custom Views, we’ve refined all organizational roles within Amnic. Here’s a breakdown of the updated roles and their permissions:
Owner: This is the highest level of access within Amnic. Owners can do everything Admins can, with the added ability to add more members as Admins. The Owner is typically the creator of the organization and holds the highest level of permissions.
Admin: Admins have full access to the Amnic portal, including all features and settings. They share the same level of access as Owners but cannot add new Owners.
Collaborator: Collaborators can view and interact with custom views and other features but have more limited permissions compared to Admins. They can’t update billing information or manage Admins but can handle most day-to-day functions.
Observer: Observers are limited to viewing custom views shared with them. They have no access to other features or settings, making this role ideal for those who need access to data without the ability to make changes.
Achieve Optimal Security and Control with RBAC
Amnic’s new Role-Based Access Control empowers you to manage your cloud cost data with greater precision and security. You can easily tailor access and permissions and ensure that sensitive information is only accessible to those who need it, while providing flexibility to handle day-to-day operations effectively.
We’re excited for you to explore these new features and experience the enhanced control and security they bring to your organization. If you have any questions or need assistance, our support team is here to help you make the most of these powerful new tools—or you can dive in and try it yourself!
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build up Amnic and provide you with the best solutions for managing your cloud costs.
