Increased Visibility with VPC Flow Logs

Monitor VPC traffic, detect congestion, and optimize costs with Amnic’s VPC Flow Logs integration.

With Amnic’s VPC Flow Logs integration, users can now monitor data transfer flows, detect congestion, and uncover cost-saving opportunities like never before. This feature provides a comprehensive view of network activity and helps users optimize resources and identify anomalies.

Users can connect VPC Flow Logs through the Integrations page under "Other Integrations."

Key Updates:

Seamless Onboarding

Setting up VPC Flow Logs is quick and simple. Users can generate and retrieve flow logs daily, with data sent to an Amazon S3 bucket. Connect VPC Flow Logs, IAM policy updates, and validation steps. See the documentation to separately attach your flow logs.

Flow Logs Management

View details, delete existing flow logs, add new VPCs, and manage all your connected flow logs from one place.

NAT Usage Analysis

Get a detailed view of the bytes flowing through the NAT Gateway with visual breakdowns of top IPs and their corresponding services. Easily switch between Sankey charts and table views to analyze both inbound and outbound traffic. The chart highlights total bytes transferred, and the tables list Source/Destination IPs, Services, and Bytes to help identify high-volume flows and optimize usage.

Cross-zone Congestion

Get a clear picture of inter-zone data movement with a visual graph highlighting the top transfers by volume. Nodes represent IPs or services and are sized based on total bytes in and out, while directional edges show how traffic flows across zones. By default, both egress and ingress traffic are displayed. A table view is also available, listing source IP, destination IP, direction, and bytes transferred for a detailed breakdown.

Outbound Congestion

Quickly spot where your outbound traffic is going with a Sankey chart highlighting data flows. The table view gives a clear breakdown, and you can filter the data for both source and destination IPs to narrow down the analysis.

Optimize and Save

The VPC Flow Logs doesn't just help you analyze data transfer-related costs, it enables you to optimize and reduce them. Instantly view the top 50 IPs incurring the highest costs, spot expensive traffic patterns like NAT gateway usage, cross-zone, and outbound traffic, and take targeted action to save on your cloud spend.

Note: You can only view VPC Flow Logs for the dates on which the data was pulled.
